First Time Platform User Questions:

How Does the Platform work?

Welcome to the Forex Advisor Trading Alert Platform that is a world leader in Forex Advisory Services. This system was designed by some of the top forex software experts on the planet and it is applauded by forex industry leaders for its user friendliness, elegant simplicity and effectiveness.

Every day prior to the opening of the European Market, subscribers log in to the trading platform to prepare for the trading session. Typically the Trader will announce his Market Outlook for today's trade session within the hour proceeding trading and trading will commence when the Trader determines the first suitable trade.

During the process of determining the trade alert the Platform Moderator will post all strategy, insight and instruction will instantaneously appear in the Dialog box on the left of the platform. All actual Trading Calls (buy/sell signals) will appear in the box on the right. The communication that appears in these two boxes will be real-time, and will come directly from the Trader and occasionally, only when required, from The Platform Moderator, Forex Advisor Administration or Technical Support.

As trading progresses you can scroll down to read earlier trading session text, however after 12 hours that text which is below the bottom edge of the box is erased. At this point all of the text becomes available for reading in the Archives.

Forex Advisor Live trades during the time the European and the North American Forex Markets are open, and although the length of each trading sessions varies with the day's market situation, a session typically lasts 7 to 10 hours, extending from just prior to the opening of the London Market (07:00 GMT or 03:00 EST) to approximately midway into the New York Market (12:00 EST).

How can I get more 'Up to Speed' with this Platform?

Take time to read through this entire Help Menu, and to acquaint yourself with all the links on the platform. It is well worth the small amount of time it will take.

If you need help understanding the trading call signals (or forex trading lingo generally) please refer to the User Guide and the Forex Glossary of Terms included in the Member area of the site.

If you need help understanding the basics, a good training course is recommended. Learning forex trading is neither difficult nor time consuming and many courses allow you can earn while you learn (read more below).

How can I achieve the most trading success from this Trading Advisory Service?

GETTING ACQUAINTED WITH THE PLATFORM FEATURES:

What is a Refresh Rate Preference for?

The platform is set to automatically refresh every 20 seconds to give you near-instantaneous communication from the Trader. You will hear the system refresh with a subtle 'clicking' sound and see the page refresh as new text appears. Each message is always accompanied by a date and time stamp, and newest messages always appear on the top.

You may decrease the refresh rate by clicking on the 'Preferences' tab. For example, you may prefer to slow down the refresh rate so that long passages of text are easier to read without the refresh action jumping you automatically to the top of the page.

What are the Sound Preferences for?

Some people prefer quieter or louder sounds to indicate the arrival of new messages on this platform. For example, some traders like to set their sounds to be louder whenever they have to leave their monitor so as not to miss any incoming trading alerts (to take this to extremes, some traders in fact sleep near their computer, and so prefer a loud sound to wake them whenever a new trading alert comes in).

If you would like to adjust any of the sounds further, remember you also have a master volume control on your computer.

What is the Archives?

The Archives is a collection of all past Trading Calls and Trader Coaching Dialog since the inception of this trading platform system. We think you will find it intuitively easy to navigate; just click on a calendar day and the content for that day will appear.

Although a convenient summary of Results of all Forex Advisor trading activity is posted on the site, the Archives stores all the moment to moment live trading activity that has been done on this platform.

The occasional days that are missing from the Archive Calendar are days when trading was done on a backup system that we keep available if for any reason this primary platform is not functional (one memorable example was during the summer 2003 power outage of New York City and the entire northeastern region of the U.S.)

What is the Print Feature for?

In each of the boxes you will find a link that enables you to print out the contents of that particular box separately. This is a convenient way of having the dialog handy without having to scroll down during trading to check something.

It also enables you to print out the entire day's session of trading calls for your reference. This is a good way to keep a log of your trading activity or a daily trading training journal. For example, you may use it as a trading record to add your own trading transaction numbers to (it is always recommended to record your transaction numbers in the case of a dispute with your trading house), as well as your observations etc.

Special Technical Note: If you have printed the page and the trading text boxes do not automatically refresh, simply right click inside the box and select 'start refresh' to restore the refresh function of each box.

What is the Message to Advisor Box for?

To facilitate focused trading activity, no subscriber communication is posted on this platform. However subscribers may communicate with the Trader or Forex Admin. via the 'Message to Forex Advisor' text box which is at the bottom of the platform. This is for use only to enable the smooth participation of your trading activity with regards to receiving the trading alerts etc., and not to be used as a means for chat or asking basic educational types of questions of the Trader (please read Platform Etiquette for additional information).

How Do I Ask for Trading Help?

We are happy to help with trading questions as far as possible. It is never a good idea to send trading questions to the Trader while he is in a trading session, since this would naturally be very distracting. Trading questions are best posed to us by email since we may be able to refer you to an answer by including a link with our response. If you feel a phone call would be better, please email to set one up.

However that this cannot replace good working knowledge of forex trading, and we would be pleased to talk you about getting whatever training you need for whatever level.

As a Forex Advisor subscriber you are a valued member of a professional team, so please consider the trading session, the trading alert platform, the Trader, the Platform Moderator and Administration Team, with respect, integrity and courteous regard you would accord a professional organization to which you belong.

Platform messages to Forex Advisor or to the Platform Moderator should be in keeping with this respectful perspective. It is helpful to be especially mindful of the Trader's and Moderator's needs to stay focused on the trading tasks at hand. Although the platform may appear to be quiet, there is always a multitude of tasks and intense activity behind the scenes belying the apparent inactivity between posted communications. Be patient in expecting responses to any communication during a trading session.

How Do I Ask for Technical Help?

If anything goes amiss with the communication you are receiving via the platform while a trade is in session, send us a message immediately via the 'Message to Forex Advisor' text box. We will receive it instantaneously and communicate back a solution. For critically urgent help please include your phone number. Although there is no guarantee regarding unforeseen technical glitches, we are more than happy to help wherever possible.

Remember that if you have a power failure (for example) and you lose the use of your computer while you have an open trade, you can always phone your brokerage house and monitor or close the trade via phone. This is where keeping records of each open trade transaction number in progress is your best safety net. This is how trades were done not so long ago, before the advent of computers.

Speaking of power failures, we would like to take this opportunity to recommend that every trader have a good battery backup for your computer which will allow you several minutes of auxiliary power to enable you to close your open trades or shut down your trading station properly.

If your technical difficulty is of a less urgent nature please send an email describing the problem.

In the Event of Platform Malfunction

In the unlikely event that a platform malfunction or failure should ever occur while a trading is in progress (which it never has) we have a secondary platform standing by to continue the trading session seamlessly. In that event an email will be sent out immediately with a link to take you right there.

We have intentionally planned backups just to be on the safe side, and we will always notify subscribers by email of any changes or technical difficulties with the platform, in advance of the upcoming trading session.
